Music of the Spheres Wind Chime Sizes

There are five sizes of Music of the Spheres ®,Inc. wind chimes which can be specified in 10 tunings.

The lengths below are measured from the knot at the top to the bottom tip of the wind catcher. They are shown in the photo beginning with the Soprano on the far left. The sizes are:

Soprano - 30" long (2 1/2 feet)
Mezzo Soprano - 40" long (3 1/3 feet)
Alto - 50" long (4 1/6 feet)
Tenor - 60" long (5 feet)
Bass - 90" long (7 1/2 feet)

The length of the chimes determine the pitch. The smallest chime, the Soprano, is the highest pitched. As length increases, the pitch is lowered so the largest chime, the Bass, is the lowest pitched.

There are three more chimes available only in one tuning: the Westminster (shown at the far right of the photo), the Contra Bass and the Basso Profundo. These three are all quite large. Measuring from the knot at the top to the bottom tip of the aluminum wind catcher, the Westminster is 90" long (7 1/2 feet), the Contra Bass is 108" long (9 feet) and the Basso Profundo is 168" long (14 feet).
